Increasing your website traffic is a continuous process which you'll need to engage in as long as your online business exists. Here are some ways you can use to keep increasing the number of visitors to your site.
    Relevant Quality Content
Make sure that your website content or blog posts are relevant and useful to your target audience. Remember, it's not about the quantity, but the quality. This is what will drive traffic and keep readers on your website. Refresh your material regularly and provide new content.
    Blog
No matter what product or service you offer, a blog will help drive traffic to your website. The purpose of blogging is to establish and support both your brand and reputation and build a relationship with your readers, thus increasing the likelihood of returning customers. Readers may also leave feedback in the form of comments and emails which will help you understand your audience and their needs and interests better.
    Optimize for Search Engine
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) may sound quite complex but is a critical element of driving web traffic. It's actually fairly simple. Everything that you do online can contribute to your organic search ranking, be it social media, blogging, uploading photos, naming your products or organizing your content.
Experts advise that a substantial portion of your marketing efforts should be directed at increasing your search engine rank for your keywords.
Some ways to do this include:
    • Getting credible websites to link to yours to heighten your ranking
    • Using Google AdWords Keyword Tool to offer keyword suggestions for your site, based on how many people search using that keyword per month, and which websites would compete with yours
    • Creating meta tags and posting keyword rich content in your site, including naming the images you use with keywords
    Use different varieties of media
Engage and interact your audience in different creative ways to drive traffic. For example, you can create a video of relevant material and post it to YouTube to draw in new customers who would normally prefer to watch videos rather than read articles. Podcasting and hosting webinars are other methods to drive new traffic to your website and make your brand appear more interesting.
These are only some of the ways which you can use to drive traffic to your website. What's important is that you do this persistently and creatively and you'll reap the benefits in the long run.
